Graduate Support At Nativity

The Graduate Support Program at Sacred Heart Nativity and Our Lady of Grace is designed to support students and families even after they have graduated from our schools. The Graduate Support program seeks to reduce the barriers that prevent low-income, college-bound students from accessing college prep high school programs and matriculating and graduating from college.

• • • We support 8th-grade students and families during the high school selection and admission process. We help students connect with high school partners, and schedule shadow days and high school visits. The Graduate Support Program also supports families during the high school financial aid process.
    • Maintain constant contact with all alumni, provide college readiness, co-curricular planning, resume writing, financial aid planning, post-secondary options, and career readiness.
    • Assist high school seniors (Mateo Scholars) in identifying and applying to college. Assist seniors in registering for college entrance exams, coordinate college visits, and support students during their transition from high school to college.

• Sustain relationships with alumni
• Maintain relationships with faculty and staff from Sacred Heart Nativity Schools and partner high schools
• Create structures of support
• Inspire a spirit of inclusion and celebration
• Create activities to support academic growth, social interactions, and faith formation

College Rediness Workshops

The Graduate Support Program hosts a series of college readiness workshops. These workshops are designed to prepare the students for their high school transition, college preparedness, and personal growth.

Alumni Connections

The Graduate Support Program is committed to supporting alumni throughout their journey through high school, college and beyond.

Fireside Chats are designed to identify the biggest needs of the alumni and focus on topics such as mental health, financial education, job placement and etc. These Zoom chats are held every quarter to talk about pressing issues and general “adulting”. We bring in guest speakers to cover the hot topics.
